John Lewis Partnership (UK)

The John Lewis Partnership is a major UK worker co-operative retailer which operates John Lewis department stores and Waitrose supermarkets. For John Lewis the latest fashions continually drive the need for in-store change. We enjoyed helping out with the rollout of a new concept Audio, TV and Computer department. The project required an initial feasibility visit to 15 selected stores followed by the creation of detailed layout proposals. The project spanned a time window of 3 months and was successful form start to finish. In many ways this project highlights the benefits of an outsourcing strategy; only there to cover unexpected spikes in workload. Our involvement with Waitrose really got underway following the acquisition of 20 former Safeway sites. Waitrose had historically been used to organic growth so the demands of this conversion project were new and challenging. We were delighted that they called on us to assist; we were there to provide both survey and planning support throughout the programme.
